I was appointed assistant professor in the Department of Pathology at McMaster University in 1989, and associate professor in 1993. I then moved to the position of associate professor in the Departments of Microbiology & Immunology and Pathology at Dalhousie University in 1997, and became Full Professor in 1999. In 2005, she became the Head of the Department of Microbiology & Immunology.
