Looking for the perfect mattress can be difficult – and the recent launch of Silentnight’s Just Sleep range in the UK doesn’t make it any easier. With seven mattresses to choose from, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure about which one is right for you.

That’s where this guide comes in – to help you navigate through the confusing choices and find the best mattress for your needs. I’ll also take a look at whether the Just Sleep range is worth considering or if there are other brands out there that might be a better fit for you.

️‍? The BEST Just Sleep mattresses:

Seven different mattresses in different sizes and prices, all with similar names. Phew! I’m not sure who at Silentnight head office thought that this would be easy to understand.

Confusingly, each mattress here is different: there are features like pressure-relieving foam layers and zonal support built in different ways in each mattress to ensure a good night’s sleep.

The mattresses range from a depth (thickness) of 18cm to 29cm and from a firmness of medium-soft, all the way to medium-firm. Plus, Allergy UK has certified some of the mattresses in the Just Sleep collection, making them a great choice for anyone who suffers from allergies or asthma.

Overview

The Just Sleep collection includes mattresses suitable for back, side, front, and combination sleepers – so in all honesty, all sorts of people should be able to find something within the price range – which ranges from £249 – £1,029.

Silentnight’s Just Sleep collection clearly has a large variety of mattresses, which is great, but I know it can be difficult for people to sort through and understand everything. Plus, some of their mattresses do sound extremely similar, making differentiation more difficult.

However, there is a price point and model in the collection for most people – particularly those particularly on a tighter budget or those who place a higher value on spinal support, for example. There are, however, alternative brands on the market that have a much easier-to-understand range of mattresses. I’ll cover some non-Silentnight alternatives later.

For now, though, let’s start…

? Mattress Name? Price Range? Type? Firmness? Depth

Just Dream£749 – £929HybridMedium Soft27cm

Quick guide: Firmness

For those looking for a firmer mattress, here are my top choices:

  • Just Calm: features zoned Miracoil support system for extra firmness.
  • Just Dream: offers a firmer feel with a deep layer of memory foam.

Or for those looking for a softer mattress:

  • Just Bliss: features a softer feel with a layer of gel for luxurious comfort.
  • Just Serene: offers a softer feel with a deep layer of memory foam.

Just Serene – Cool comfort

Silentnight’s Just Serene hybrid mattress is its new flagship, so it’s quite a high-end option suited to those in need of a restful night’s sleep who are happy to pay more for it. The mattress is available in three different sizes – Double, King, Superking (sadly, no single).

A mattress with a medium soft firmness rating liek this is aimed at those who prefer a more forgiving surface on which to sleep. Individual pocket springs in the Just Serene mattress respond to your body weight, allowing you to move freely while lying in bed and sleep soundly. Improve your spinal alignment and posture with the help of the Mirapocket springs and their localised support.

The Just Serene mattress is ideal for people who tend to get too hot throughout the night since it contains a support system and ReVoTM foam technology, both of which help to regulate body heat for cooler sleep. Allergy sufferers will like the outer soft-knit fabric, which is hypoallergenic.

What makes it different?

  • It really is ideal for people who tend to get too hot in the night, as it features a support system and foam technology designed to regulate body heat for cooler sleep.
  • Offers the highest level of comfort and support from the “Just Sleep” range.
  • …But is the most expensive.

Just Dream – Luxurious feel

The Just Dream mattress is another premium hybrid mattress designed to provide a comfortable and restful night’s sleep with extra cooling features. It features 1000 individually responsive Mirapocket springs, ReVo™ foam technology to reduce body heat, and a Vitalize sleep surface that stimulates your metabolism and improves blood circulation for all-round improved sleep and well-being. The mattress has a medium soft firmness rating, making it a little softer than a medium for sleepers who need a little extra give.

The Just Dream mattress is 27cm deep, making it slightly shallower than the Just Serene mattress. In this warts-and-all review, we’ll dive deeper into the pros and cons of the Just Dream mattress to help you decide if it’s the right choice for your sleep needs.

What makes it different?

  • The Vitalize sleep surface on the Just Dream mattress stimulates your metabolism and improves blood circulation, leading to better sleep and overall well-being.
  • The 1000 individually responsive Mirapocket springs in the Just Dream mattress provide excellent support and pressure relief, making it a great choice for sleepers with aches and pains.
  • The Just Dream mattress has a medium-soft firmness rating, which means it offers a slightly softer feel than some of the other mattresses in the range, making it a good option for those who prefer a softer sleeping surface.

Just Calm – Soothing support

If you’re looking for a hybrid mattress that will give you a good night’s sleep, consider the Just Calm from Silentnight. The mattress has a medium firmness rating and is available in four different sizes including a single.

The 800 individually sensitive Mirapocket springs in the mattress’ support system work together to offer zonal support from head to toe, assisting with proper spinal alignment and posture. EcoComfort Fibres, derived from recycled plastic bottles, add an added layer of softness and support to the Just Calm mattress. Because of this, the Just Calm is a fantastic option for anyone in the market for a green mattress without sacrificing comfort.

The Just Calm mattress incorporates ReVo foam technology, which works to dissipate heat from the body to make for a more comfortable night’s rest. If you frequently wake up hot and sweaty, this is a terrific feature for you. The Vitalize sleep surface of the Just Calm mattress further promotes metabolic stimulation and enhanced blood flow, leading to enhanced rest and general health.

What makes it different?

  • The Just Calm is ideal for those who are concerned about the eco footprint.
  • It’s also good for those wake up hot and sweaty as it incorporates ReVo foam technology to dissipate heat and the Vitalize sleep surface to promote metabolic stimulation and enhanced blood flow.
  • The Just Calm mattress features 800 individually responsive Mirapocket springs, which is less than the 1000 zoned springs in the Just Serene & the Just Dream.
  • While the Just Calm mattress is slightly shallower than the Just Serene and the Just Dream, it features EcoComfort Fibres, which are made from recycled plastic bottles, to provide extra comfort and support. This is a unique feature that sets it apart from the other “Just Sleep” mattresses.

Just Bliss – Plush Paradise

The Just Bliss mattress is the most popular choice from the Just Sleep range. It’s a hybrid mattress with a responsive gel-infusion that’s made to provide you a lot of room to move around. Sizes available for the Just Bliss mattress include a Single.

The 1000 individually sensitive Mirapocket springs in the support system of the Just Bliss mattress contour to your body’s unique shape and weight distribution while also extending to the mattress’s outer edges to aid in proper spinal alignment. In addition to its supportive base, the Just Bliss mattress has a pressure-relieving gel-infused comfort layer that adapts to your every movement during the night. If you’re the type of person that gets up and about a lot throughout the night, this feature will come in handy.

If you’re in the market for a hybrid mattress that ticks all your comfort and responsiveness boxes while also satisfying your need for pressure relief, improved spinal alignment, and an allergy-friendly sleeping environment, go no further than the Just Bliss.

This is my overall favourite from the Just Sleep range.

Which is the best “Just Sleep” mattress for me?

Each one of the seven mattresses has clearly been designed with a certain sleeper and a certain budget in mind. I’m guessing it took a lot of research on Silentnight’s part to come up with all these.

Here I’m going to clarify what they are:

CategoryMattress
? Best for Most Sleeping Styles (best all rounder)? Just Bliss
➡️Best for those on a budget
Just Relax
➡️Best for Hot SleepersJust Breathe
➡️Best for CouplesJust Dream
➡️Best for Heavier PeopleJust Snug
➡️Best for Those Who Want LuxuryJust Serene
➡️Best Eco-Conscious Choice
Just Calm

The Best Overall: Just Bliss

This wasn’t an easy decision! But as it matches the most sleeping styles and will be suited to people of many different body weights, the Just Bliss is my overall winner.

So with its pressure-relieving gel-infused layer, and its medium-firm rating make it suitable for most people, making it a great choice for combination sleepers who switch positions throughout the night too (most people fall into this category).

But what sets the Just Bliss apart is its adaptive support system, which features a combination of Miracoil and Mirapocket springs that adjust to your body weight and sleeping position. This makes it a great option for people who prefer a more malleable sleep surface that adapts to their body, rather than the other way around.

Best for Those On A Budget:

Personally, I think the Just Relax mattress is the best option for those looking to not overspend and don’t want the extra comfort that a spring/hybrid mattress brings. With prices starting at £249, this memory foam-only mattress provides a comfortable and supportive night’s sleep without breaking the bank.

The Just Relax mattress is 18cm in depth, making it the thinnest mattress in the range, but it still provides a medium level of firmness to suit the average build and weight. The foam support system offers tailored support to help improve your spinal alignment and posture, while the hypoallergenic soft-knit fabric finish ensures a comfortable sleep surface. This is a great option for those who are looking for a memory foam mattress and a good night’s sleep without overspending.

Best for Hot Sleepers:

If you’re someone who struggles with getting too hot during the night, then the Just Breathe mattress may be the perfect fit for you. With its extra breathable Eco Comfort Fibre layer, this mattress helps regulate your temperature throughout the night, keeping you cool and comfortable.

The 3D fabric and Mirapocket zoned support system also provide added breathability, allowing air to circulate freely through the mattress. So, if you’re looking for a mattress that will help you sleep cool and comfortable all night long, then the Just Breathe is a great option to consider.

Best for Couples:

For couples who are looking for a mattress that can provide undisturbed sleep and motion isolation, the Just Dream mattress is a great option to consider. The pocket spring support system provides individualized support that adjusts to your body weight, providing ease of movement and an undisturbed night’s sleep. The zoned support system also provides enhanced spinal alignment, which can be beneficial for both partners.

Additionally, the medium soft firmness rating is suitable for most people and the hypoallergenic soft-knit fabric finish makes it a comfortable option for those with allergies.

Best for Heavier People:

Because of its zonal Miracoil support system, which specifically addresses pressure points in the back, hips, and shoulders, the Just Snug mattress is a great option for heavier individuals. You won’t feel as much of your partner’s tossing and turning because of the innovative design of this support system.

Additionally, the Just Snug mattress has a comfort layer made of Geltex foam, which offers excellent pressure relief and contouring support. This can help to reduce the pressure on your joints, making it a comfortable option for heavier individuals.

Best for Those Who Sleep Hot:

This one’s easy: it’s the Just Breathe. It features Eco Comfort Fibres, which are designed to be more breathable and help regulate body temperature while sleeping. Additionally, the Miracoil support system is designed to reduce pressure points and provide a more comfortable sleep.

Best for Those Who Want Luxury:

If you’re looking for a luxurious and premium mattress, then the Just Serene mattress is the perfect choice for you. With 1000 mini springs and an additional 1000 individually responsive Mirapocket springs, this mattress offers enhanced breathability and lasting comfort.

The ReVo foam helps to reduce body heat for cooler sleep, and the Vitalize sleep surface stimulates your metabolism and helps improve blood circulation for all-round improved sleep and well-being. The hypoallergenic soft-knit fabric finish is both comfortable and clean, making the Just Serene a truly premium mattress option.

Best For Your Sleep Style:

Here’s my top pick based on your sleeping style.

  • Back Sleepers: Here I’d for for the Just Serene. Its 1000 mini springs and zoned support system offer enhanced spinal alignment and support, which is perfect for back sleepers who need consistent support throughout the night.
  • Front Sleepers: The Just Snug. Its body-hugging memory foam provides tailored support, especially for the hips and chest of front sleepers, preventing excess pressure on these areas.
  • Side Sleepers: I’d pick the Just Bliss. Its pressure-relieving gel-infused layer responds intelligently to your body, which is perfect for side sleepers who need enhanced pressure relief to prevent shoulder and hip pain.
  • Combination Sleepers: In my opinion, Just Calm. Its medium firmness and pocket spring support system make it an excellent choice for those who switch positions throughout the night, as it provides support and comfort no matter how you sleep.
  • Folk with Back Pain: Easy choice: Just Dream. Its 1000 zoned springs and responsive gel-infused layer offer excellent support and pressure relief, making it a great option for those with back pain who need extra cushioning and spinal support.

What about the sleep trial?

If you’re considering buying one of the Silentnight Just Sleep mattresses, you’ll be pleased to know that they come with a generous sleep trial period and warranty to give you peace of mind when making your purchase.

The sleep trial period is an impressive 365 nights, giving you a full year to try out your new mattress and ensure it’s the perfect fit for you. This extended trial allows you to truly test the mattress in various sleeping positions and see how it affects your overall sleep quality. If you decide that the mattress isn’t right for you during this time, you can return it for a full refund or exchange it for another mattress in the range.

Interestingly, only Nectar, DreamCloud and Eve Sleep do a year-long (365 night) sleep trial like this in the UK.

View the best overall mattress Sleep Trials in the UK.

It’s also worth pointing out that the sleep trial is a specific offer for the Just Sleep range; it does not apply to all Silentnight mattresses in the UK. Silentnight may offer different warranty and return policies for other mattresses outside of the Just Sleep range.

Guarantee

Additionally, all the Just Sleep mattresses come with a 10-year warranty, so you can sleep soundly knowing that your investment is protected. This warranty covers any manufacturing defects, such as broken springs or faulty foam, and ensures that you can enjoy your mattress for years to come. In the unlikely event that you do encounter any issues, you can contact Silentnight’s customer service team who will be happy to assist you with any warranty claims.

Note that, different to most other mattress sellers, customers must provide proof of purchase or delivery and comply with the retailer’s terms and conditions to claim under the guarantee. If you wish to file a claim during the first year of purchase, you should get in touch with the store from which you purchased the mattress… But customers with claims beyond the first year should get in touch with Silentnight directly, rather oddly.

The simplest way to do this is through Silentnight’s website; clients just need to upload images of the product and the problem they’re having, along with evidence of purchase or delivery.

Tell me more about Silentnight…

Silentnight has several sub-brands like this, including Layezee, Perfecta, Rest Assured, Studio, and The Pocket Spring Bed Company.

Overall, the company (which is British!) employs around 1,250 people in the United Kingdom and has a headquarters in Barnoldswick, Lancashire, and a digital office on Quay Street in Manchester.

Here at WhatMattress we take mattress research seriously - all our product tests are done as fairly and honestly as possible.

That's quite a bold claim, but we're proud of the attention to detail that you're hopefully seeing within our reviews. Our methodology sets us apart from many other review websites. I like to think this is because WhatMattress is only run by two people - Carrie and Anthony. Over the years we've hand-tested multiple mattresses, pillow and other bedding products - so that you don't have to!

Every single mattress is put through its paces using the following tests:

  • We make sure to live with the mattress for at least a week.
  • We always sleep on the mattress we're testing - every single night.
  • We will always be 100% honest when we weigh up the pros and the cons of each mattress.
  • And in most cases, we've bought the mattress ourselves and haven't been given a free one.

Is the Just Sleep range eco-friendly?

Kind of.

Silentnight’s Just Sleep collection matches the company’s longstanding dedication to environmental responsibility. In order to make their mattresses sustainable, they employ a number of “green” practises and techniques:

  1. Eco Comfort Fibres, which are used in many of the company’s mattresses, are created from post-use plastic bottles. These fibres are a more sustainable and environmentally friendly substitute for common fillers like foam. The company also makes sure that their bed frames are robust and environmentally friendly by only using wood from responsibly managed forests.
  2. To further lessen their impact on the environment, Silentnight employs energy-saving practises throughout their production. The company has created a closed-loop recycling system to minimise waste and maximise the reusability of raw materials in their plants, and they also use renewable energy sources.
  3. Silentnight is also devoted to doing its part to lessen its negative effect on the environment. The organisation has a sustainability team whose mission it is to find and execute environmentally friendly production methods across the board. They’re also committed to helping the furniture sector become more sustainable as members of the Furniture sector Sustainability Programme (FISP).
  4. All their mattresses are made in the UK, thus reducing airmiles.

How do the Just Sleep mattresses arrive?

The Just Serene, Just Dream, and Just Calm mattresses in the Silentnight Just Sleep range are rolled and boxed for convenience, which makes it easy to transport and maneuver them up stairs and through narrow doorways. The box provides extra protection during delivery and makes it easy to store the mattress until it’s ready to be used.

On the other hand, the rest of the Just Sleep mattresses arrive rolled, without a box. Although they are still relatively easy to move, they don’t offer the same level of protection during delivery and may require more care during transportation.

What other mattresses should I consider?

For those who prefer to think outside the box, latex mattresses are a popular option and noticeably absent from the Just Sleep range.

Latex is a natural material that can offer good support and pressure relief, while also being durable and hypoallergenic. Latex mattresses are often more expensive than other types of mattresses, but can be a good investment in the long run.

Another alternative to consider is an adjustable air mattress, which allows you to adjust the firmness of the mattress using an air pump. This can be a great option for couples who have different preferences for mattress firmness, or for people who have changing support needs over time.

Those concerned with their impact on the environment can also choose from organic and sustainable mattresses. Organic cotton and sheep’s wool are just a few examples of the natural and chemical-free materials used to construct these mattresses. If you’re looking for a natural, organic mattress and have the budget for it, the Simba GO Hybrid is one of my top choices.

Conclusion

In my opinion, the Silentnight Just Sleep collection will evolve over time as it still feels very ‘new’ .

In one way, you could say that Silentnight has put a lot of consideration into making the “mattress buying experience” as easy as possible, by offering a wide variety of mattresses at a variety of price points, as well as offering free delivery and a lengthy sleep trial. Anyone interested in environmental protection will appreciate the range’s use of sustainable materials and production methods.

However, for some customers, the range’s seven mattresses and the sometimes-confusing naming practises can undobutedly make it difficult to select the best option. Writing this review took my a long time because the range is just so confusing.

While the 10-year warranty is a wonderful perk, it is exclusive to the Just Sleep collection and not other Silentnight mattresses.

If you’re looking for a UK-made mattress without the usual OTT marketing and “hot air” – so to speak – then Silentnight are ideal. They keep it simple, and I really like that.

As for which is the best, I would say go for the Just Bliss – it matches the most sleeping styles and body weights.

However, if you’re looking for a high-end, luxury option, then the Just Serene should be the better overall choice for you. If you’re on a budget, the opt for the Just Relax. And if you’re a hot sleeper, the Just Breathe would be an excellent choice.
